Default Throttle response on a 2005 Mustang V6 Manual

Hey everyone. I've read threads about the throttle lag on autos but do manuals have that too? Cause it's either my crappy driving or the car. I hate for it to be the car... I can live with "well it's my own damn fault dummy"

that's another thing... why is the shifting in these ponies so horribly bad... i dont know if it's just me but when i'm trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd i almost always hit that section where it just doesn't want to go anywhere... and i look like a tard reving me engine... I want a short throw too, but i really dont want the hurst shifter knob and i heard there there aren't any replacement knobs for them... but that's off track...

You could add a T-handle or a pistol grip instead of the ball.

Martinez,

I've got the Hurst Competition Plus Short Throw and had the same thing holding me back from buying it; i'm not crazy about the "Hurst Equipped" look. Fortunately for those of us who like the stock shift knob, Hurst offers a stick that bolts onto the Hurst Competition Plus shifter assembly and fits the stock shift knob, allowing you to keep the stock look while reducing your shift throw by over 40% (which doesn't sound like much, but wait until you FEEL it!) and 'cleaning up' the way your shifter feels. The stock shifter assembly is so 'sloppy' compared to the Hurst.

I haven't bought the stick that you can use the stock knob with yet, as i'm torn between the stock look and a Hurst black knob.

I've heard people say that this shifter feels like it "looks for 3rd gear."

It does.

Black05, where would this part be to get the stock shifter on the Hurst shifter?

Also, where the black knob for the hurst shifter too?

The black ball is here... http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...pm&pmid=114710

Scroll down to model #530-163-0104, I believe that is the one.

As for the stick, i've heard you can order it by calling Hurst. I was going to go to the Hurst site and look for a phone number to order from, but like I said, i'm torn between the two looks. If I recall correctly, the stick that fits the stock knob is ~$30 as well.

I haven't tried any of the other shifters for the 2005+ v6 besides the Hurst so I can't really give you a side by side comparison, but I can tell you that the Hurst is very nice and allows you a few options for the look. (White ball, Black ball, Pistol Grip, T-Handle, or Stock Knob) It's a great shifter too.
