Question 2005 Mustang power windows problem

Yesterday I got out of the car, closed the door, and both windows went down. Now they won't stay up unless there's power. As soon as the key is turned off, the windows go down. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated thank you

try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and letting the computer reset.

If that doesn't work (and it should), try the window reset procedure. With windows up press the down button until the window retracts compeltely and hold for an extra 2 seconds. Then roll up and hold for an extra 2 seconds.

I'm having a similar problem with the driver's side window on my 05 Stang. The battery went dead on Friday. I charged it, but it went dead again. After getting a jump, I couldn't put the window up. It would go to the closed position, then roll back down (about 3/4 down). I replaced the battery, and its keeping a charge, but the window won't stay up. If I open the door and close the window, it stays up.

I tried the calibration steps, but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Thanks guys

Tommy

Thumbs up Thanks!

I was having a slightly different issue with my driverside window lowering when I opened the door but not going back up. Using the window reset procedure it is now fully functional. When I called the dealer they wanted to schedule an appointment to look at the car.

Thanks again for the time and money saving tip!

sorry to bring this back from the dead but the window reset procedure has to be done after clearing the memory on the window system. you dont just roll up hold and roll down hold.
you have to pull the fuse while you are rolling the window down that will clear the memory then once you replace the fuse you do the up down procedure. all info can be found here

i was smart and bookmarked this topic. My window decided to not roll up on its own or go down that slightly small amount when you open it. Now it works
