Default Noise from back of car

When I depress the gas pedal slightly while driving, I get this short chirp noise from the rear of the car. It just started so I haven't brought it in yet. Anyone have a similiar problem?

Thanks,
Keith

A smartass would say it's probably the tires chirping but clearly that's not it. Does it do it consistently?

I thought somebody would tell me to check for a nest!! It's pretty consistant. Maybe squeak would be more appropriate but chirp still works. It's odd that it seems tied into depressing the gas pedal ever so slightly...

My guess is it's either coming from the rear axle or it's suspension-related. I doubt if it's anything serious but I'm sure it's annoying. If it concerns you, maybe a trip to the dealer is in order.

happened on mine too at one time. check the rear shocks to see if they're leaking or check to see where the ebrake cables go through the trailing arms, they like to wear on eachother and may contribute to noise.

A real smartass would ask if you know here your mother-in-law is ...

Trouble with chirps is they can be channeled from one part of the car to another. So many things change position when you crack the throttle, the origin of the sound could be anywhere: motor mounts, any bushings, especially exhaust hangers. Even the gas pedal pivots.

You need to get your MIL and another half-dozen sympathetic folk to surround your car and take note of where they think the sound is coming from.

I was wrong on the noise location. It's in the front and my dealer says it's the bushings on the lower control arm. He says Ford has a tsb on it.
