Hey guys!! The other day, my battery went dead out of nowhere. Now i have this wierd buzzing noise coming from the dash, around the instrument panel, everytime I start the car. I doubt this was related to the battery going dead, but I don't know. This buzzing could have been going on before, but maybe I didn't notice it. It just annoys me to know end. Help!!
I had to replace my battery 2 weeks ago and now notice the same thing. It doesn't do it when it's running. Turn the key to on and you get it for about 3 seconds. After running the vehicle, turn it off and it happens again for about 3 seconds. Sounds like it's coming from right behind the gauge cluster. It's not loud but it is noticable. I just had my cluster replaced yesterday (bad temp gauge) but I forgot to ask about the sound. Is this what you're experiencing?

Yah, kinda wierd. It's quiet like the hum of the fuel pump but has a rapid clicking like a bad relay. Almost sounds like static you'd get from the radio.
Might be running it back in for some more warranty work. It expires in April...want to get any hiccups out of the vehicle before it starts costing me.

I swear that's the same sound I get when I turn the ignition to accessory. Last about 20 seconds and goes away.
You guys hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what is going on. I only have the passive alarm as well. I checked it today again, and it last three or four seconds, only when you turn the key. It is the only problem that I have experienced in two years, so I am not complaining.
I wonder if all the wiring is present for the active alarm system and the battery cratering set something off in it. My dad had a vehicle several yrs ago that didn't have the optional alarm system installed but when my mom decided to clean the dash she managed to set off an alarm. With none of the hardware available to turn it off, my dad had to pull the battery wire to shut it off. You'd think though that when I put the race tune back in the vehicle last night it would have fixed it if that was the problem.

Maybe. Might have just gotten louder with all the dinking on the dash and gauges. I guess I won't worry about it unless it gets worse.
