Default 2005 Mustang V6 external door handles fail to return

Hello all,

I'm new here and thought I'd find out if anyone else has had problems with the external door handle actuators or return springs. I bought my Mustang used but shortly after the warranty expired, the door handles stopped returning properly. They work but stick out about a quarter of an inch unless I push them in manually. The power door locks used to retract them properly but this has stopped also. Has anyone had this happen or have any ideas short of buying new actuators?

I appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you

Welcome to AFM and, yes, this is a very common problem. The handles are generally replaced under warranty. Not sure what it would cost you. More of an annoyance than anything else.

Happened to me. I went to my dealer and got it taken care of easily.
