Default 2005 V-6 CAI installation. Is a tune required after installing a CAI?

I've installed an AEM CAI on my V-6 mustang. Is it neccesary to put a tune on it, or will the OEM computer make its own adjustments? Does the OEM computer have auto-tune capabilities?

It should be tuned... The PCM can make some adjustments on its own but for best performance you need to get it tuned to ensure your A/F ratio is good.

Any recommendation on an affordable tune?
I've got 5 mouths to feed, plus my 442 requires a higher budget in parts and gas.

I just put a K&N on my lil 6 this year and was wondering the same thing. Will something like the Diablo be able to tune for that?

Some CAI's dont need a tune, but yeah for best performance a tune is needed. Best price? you can always try to ebay a XCal2 tuner try to get one cheap and buy some canned tunes that are about 180 bones. or pay the 3-400 for the tuner and tunes from bamachips. i did the first option and saved like 100 bucks
