Default 2007 Mustang v6 premium clutch problems

I have a chirping sound that my dealer said was a conrol arm issue. They followed the tsb replaced the arms and still have the noise. The mechanic said that it's a defective clutch but it will take 60 days to get a replacement!! He said they can't fill the orders fast enough.
Anybody else have this problem?
Is it me or is the clutch amazingly loud while in neutral?

Thanks,
Keith

60 days to get a clutch?? Wow... The noise you hear in neutral is just gear rollover and it's actually normal. But the chirping sound may be a sign that it's failing.

Throwout bearings squeal unbelieveably loud, when the clutch is out. The slightest touch on the clutch pedal and the noise disappears, right?

Throwout bearings are cheap but unfortunately, the first step in replacing them is "follow engine removal proceedure". You can fry them by riding with your foot resting barely, on the clutch, but not enough to disengage it.

It's not that involved to replace a clutch.

I had a Miata and in neutral the clutch was nowhere as loud as my Mustang. I'm still more stunned by th 60 day wait from Ford for the clutch.

i agree with stlwagon. if it's the release / throwout bearing you have to replace the clutch release cylinder as a single assy. the release bearing and the bearing hub are integral parts of the cylinder. but as far as i know you have to remove the transmission for cylinder replacement. a cylinder should be delivered in less than 60 days.

Called Ford customer help line. Got a phonecall today ,one week later,my clutch assembly is in. I'd suggest anyone with a similiar problem call Ford. Sure beats a 60 day lead time!!

Got my Pony back with an entire new clutch assembly. I have to say that in hindsight ,the original clutch never worked as well as the new one. It's quieter, smoother and grabs much faster..
