Need more info please. Is the car parked on a slope? Is the parking break engaged? Did you engage the brake before you put the transmission in park.
Automatics are sensitive to torque lock, a situation where the transmission is placed in park and the weight of the car is allowed to rest on the parking pawl in the transmission before the parking break is engaged. This weight tries to lock the shift lever in place until you pull hard enough or wiggle it enough for it to release. The cure is simply to always engage the parking break before putting the transmission in park.

Trying to think of the easy stuff first...The next time it happens, see if it makes a difference if you depress the brake pedal harder. The brake pedal must be pressed before you can shift out of park. Might be a misadjustment there.
