2006 Mustang water leak on pass floor board again

hey everyone, my 06 is leaking again. ford put out a TSB (14-6) for this problem and happened to my car. last fall i had all the window seals replaced do to water leaking in to the car and pooling on the passinger floor board. after i got it out of the shop i stored it for the winter. upon taking the car out this spring i could still smell the mildew and mold oder. long story short the matting under the carpet still had the oder and was damp. i also found more pooled water on the floor boards and soaking wet matting every where. now ford cant find the "new" water leak any where. has anyone else had this problem or could anyone shed some light on this to help me at all? please!

here is the TSB link:

Try to find a larger dealership with a leak detection bay or plenty of experience with leaks. I just had an '07 Escape in for a leak that ended up originating at one of the seals in the firewall. There's plenty of places it can leak from - as I'm sure you're familiar with now - so getting the right experts looking at it should make a difference.

The tech's notes just say "a crack in the seam along the side of the firewall". That's pretty bad about the other dealerships...if it's a problem it should be addressed until it's fixed. I have a leak in my Stang at both doors that causes water to pool in the sills. It doesn't actually enter the car, though. Either way, the Fords seem to be retaining water lately.

I've appeared to have succesfully stopped my pass. side leak. Haven't had any dampness or water since I fixed it & have had quite a few heavy rains since.
Remove the back half of the pass side front wheelwell.
Here's where mine was leaking

I work at a dealer and have experience with water leaks...none so far on S197 stangs. Did they replace the padding under the carpet? Could be causing some of the odor. The a/c evaporator is in the middle of the car and the drain is on the right side of the trans tunnel, maybe this hose is dislodged thus draining into the vehicle. I'd also check around the air intake for the HVAC systems (under the pass side wiper panel), Tauruses leak there often. Check where the antenea lead come into the car(right above right kickpanel/fuse panel).

yes they are gonna replace the padding and maybe even the carpet and the headliner. right now the have a de-ionizer (i think thats what its called) in the car to "de-oderize" the car. one of the things they did was took out all the wiper cowl pieces and put in new ones with sealer on them so they dont pull out and allow water to pass that way. to aircare84 you are the man because that was on of the spots it was leaking from. not to count out every one else cause you all rock cause it was leaking in more than one spot. with out your help this would have been much harder to find. they are going to leave the car outside tonight in the poring rain to see if they got all of them to stop. ill keep yall posted. THANK YOU TONS AGAIN!!!

I'm surprised that much water could get behind the liner and in through there.

The water doesn't come in from behind the wheel well, the cowl drain is just above that area, the water runs down the 'firewall' area, & around the grommet. If you're parked on any slope or uphill grade, it makes it worse.

I get it now... What made you look behind there?

what made me look was that the car had already been re-sealed once before. i looked in spots were it hadnt been sealed before and looked to see if it had acces to the "cabin". i also had them replace all the wiper cowl clips and seal them in beacuse on the stock clips actually lift out a little when the cowl is installed. so far the car has been MASSIVELY rained on twice, once with out the right front fender and the other time with, and no water or dampness in the car yet. the car isnt quite ready yet because i want to make sure that is 100% completly water free before i take it home this time. the last thing i want is another leak!!! THANKS for all the help again!!! i will keep yall updated!
