| | Re: Mutha Thumper Cams with Blower
Kenne Bell warns that agressive cams could destroy a blower. The problem is that they don't pull enough vaccum, which effects the bypass valve's ability to open and close. I believe the fuel pressure regulator and the boost a pump is also dependant on the vacuum level.
He indicates that the system must be able to sustain a minimum of 10 psi vacuum at idle. I would think this would be blower manufacturer / type independant.
I know my system pulls about 20 psi of vacuum at idle, and decreases with rpm and throttle position. Just a little throttle and it rises to 0 psi and full throttle is 10 psi boost.
Comp cams does sell a blower grind cam for the three valve motor.
