Default Will a Hotrod cam/Paxton combo work?

My tuner says no problem. Is it all in the tune, or is it a complete "no,no" for a supercharger combined with an aggressive cam?
I realize adding a supercharger with an aggressive cam will not provide optimal gains. Iam planning on a Paxton Novi-2200 SL, and I dont plan on swapping the cams. Can someone advise on everything that is to be expected from this combo.

It'll work fine with a good tune, like you said it wont provide much gains, but thats ok the supercharger will take you to the limets of the stock block anyway. Your going to have a ton of power on the freeway, thats for sure

You might be able to pick up 35RWHP instead of the normal 20-30RWHP due to them being under boost maybe more only a dyno will tell every car is different.

Those cams were designed for a N/A car. If you want cams for a blower motor get a set designed for a blower. There is a difference in the cam profile especially the overlap. Comp cams makes a verity for a blower motor to match the performance your looking for.

The specs on the hotrod cam say its just a higher lift[11mm] version of the stock cam. Open close and overlap about the same.

That's the point. Needs a longer exhaust duration to get the most out of a supercharger.

If your going to spend the money on a supercharger and cams you might as well get something that is designed to work together.

Let me chime and say that I have this combination and all is well. My tune was provided by Brenspeed and I have had "0" issues, none ! Driveability is fine.

The car pulls very hard at mid to high RPM's. I keep a somewhat conservative limit of 6400 set on the rev limiter. But there is way more available if you would want to push the envelop. The street manors are as expected and are minimally affected in slow traffic and first gear with the Hot Rod's. This was a characteristic not affected by the Paxton.

All in all no harm with this combination and I am very satisfied. Could you get a specific blower grind and maybe see a slight difference, possible. Would it be a big difference that you would feel, probably not.

Go with it !

Actually the duration is quite a bit longer especially on the exhaust valve. I've seen numerous people running these cams with blowers and they all pick up at least 20HP. There is one guy on youtube that has frpp cams/blower at 9psi with 470rwhp.

Thanks for the information. Iam happy with the frpp cams and did not want to swap them for a blower grind.

Actually it could be more than a 20 rwhp difference with a properly matched cam.

No one is saying it wouldn't work. With a blower you can force enough air in there to make it work. It's not the optium that can be used. If it's the lopee sound that cool to.

I wouldnt suggest buying them but if you already have them in, i wouldnt buy another set after dropping that kind of cash on them.
