2008 Mustang GT. GT500 Dual fuel pump kit install?

Hello all, I have a 2008 GT/CS and I am going to install a Saleen supercharger kit. I was wondering if anyone else has installed the dual fuel pump kit from FRPP and does it work properly after install or does it need to be professionally tuned? At what horsepower level does the stock fuel pump need to be upgraded?

It'll work without tuning but it really needs to be tuned to change some voltage settings.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have one of these kits installed in your car? Would you recommend this kit?

yes, the majority on here will tell you its the best way to go when upgrading you fuel system. The B.A.P. just adds more confusion if you happen to run into any problems...from what I've heard on the forum

I've been running the dual pumps for 2+ years without issue.

if you're installing it yourself, be warned its a bit tricky to get in the tank. I suggest running it almost empty and supporting the fuel tank and loosning the straps...might buy you a liitle more room to work with. The access hole under the rear seal doesnt exactly line up with the hole for the fuel pump.

No always true. Every car is different. Mine was aligned perfectly.

Not trying to argue but, from the people I talked to(thanks mickmach for helping me prove this) Most don't line up that good. mine was horrible, and yeah every car is different, glad it worked out for ya STL.

Just trying to give J114 a heads up on what he might be up against.

I installed my GT500 pumps several months before I got my supercharger. It ran fine without a tune adjustment. I just put it in and the car ran fine. I asked Brenspeed if it would be OK before I did it and they said it wouldn't hurt a thing. I personally wouldn't go over 400rwhp with the stock pump. I know it will probably handle a little more than that, I just wouldn't risk it past that point.

I have it. Only problem is the tank wont fill up past 70% or the fuel gauge is wrong. I got mine because I had the Fuel pump TSB when hitting the gas after a highway cruise there would be a stumble.

Sorry if I am hijacking the thread but I have a question and you guys always have the answers.
My GT500 pumps were professionally installed a week or two ago. The only issue is when I fill the tank completely the gauge is a little off. Instead of reading full it reads between the 3/4 line and full line. Anybody have any ideas. And I do have the correct FRPP part (The one for 05-09 cars not the one for 2010s). Will this correct itself? Is there anything I must do to reset it?

Thanks.

Mine works perfectly. The float on your pump may be hitting some of the stuff attached to the pump assembly or it may have gotten off during the install. It is kind of difficult to get everything in the hole without rubbing stuff all over the place. I put my finger in there once the pump was in the hole and the plastic tube in the tank was attached and made sure my float went up and down easily. I hate to say it but you may need to remove the ring that holds it in and lift up on the pump and see if the float is moving properly. You shouldn't have to completely remove it when you do this. You may find and correct the problem. Just make sure you only have about a 1/4 tank of gas when you do it.
