Bolt in Roll Cage?

Hey guys

About a month or so ago, I was looking at some interior upgrades for my 06 GT, and I ran across a bolt in roll cage for the 05-09 mustang. Now going back, I can't find that sucker anywhere. Does anybody know where I can find one?

The one I found was mainly for show I think, and thats really what I'm goin' for. Something that I can just bolt in myself if possible, without tearing up the interior! I really think it would set my car apart from some of the other stangs in town.

If anybody has an idea what i'm talking about, or knows anywhere I could find one, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Roll Cage

Ok, posting so I can come back. Need to track down a magazine I had that had a bolt in system with NO modifications required. I remember even the junctions bolted in so it was something you could get into the car with minimal effort. What was really cool was the door braces ran just above the seat level, so you could still get in and out. (Even your girlfriend in that short skirt).

It came in various styles, black, dull Grey and chrome, nice unit but if I remember right about $1500.00.

Will post when I track it down.

Caging a car for show??????????? You need to rethink this one.

While you're at it though to complete the look of an NHRA certified 10 point cage, don't forget to put in a kill switch on the rear bumper. They kinda go together. Also you will need to borrow some low 10s or 9s time slips.

Sorry I searched, must be thrown away. Too bad, it also had some seat modifications I was interested in.

I was thinking roll cage if I could get a car to do 11.5 at the track.

But on the other hand if I could put down a sub 11.5 and get kicked out of the track that would be just as cool, and cheaper.

Or is it 10.5 at most tracks, either way. I dont think I want a cage, Ill just lay off the gas. If I ever get a car that can run that quick.

Is this the system you were thinking of? I do believe they have one for the 05-09 Mustang. The unit runs about $2500.

I have emailed the person I bought mine from to see if they are still making the bolt in type for show cars. They are just a hoop that goes over from the seat belts bolts top and bottom on each side. Looking into the car, it looks like a full cage. Easy access to the rear seat, with a slight (sarcasm here) chance of bumping your head on the bar.

If they are still in business, or if they have any left, I will let ya'll know. The website has not been updated in a couple of years. But their email address did not bounce back. So there is hope.

11.499...just need roll bars, 6 point would do. Get swing outs. Don't need to cage until 9.999. Converted rollbars to cage in my car, when car was consistent mid 10s and felt strongly that 9s were possible.

Pic of interior of my car from last build. Interior has changed some with new build, but cage has not. Caging a car is the beginning of the end of the car's use as a street vehicle. You have to be nuts or the ultimate poser to want to drive around town surrounded by all that metal. The car is no longer street legal, no license plate.

I have always driven T-top cars. After seeing a wreck on I-95 while coming home from my duty station, I have always put a basic hoop of some kind in my cars. The Mustang GT has a wide roof that looks pretty flimsy and my head is pretty close to it. I added my bar to give me that little bit extra. I usually just get a basic bolt in type.

Definitely this Is what I was referring to!

Haha I get what everyone is saying though! Unless I was putting up some serious numbers at the track, I wouldn't ever put in a cage in my car. And I don't show my car, I just saw it from a thread where a guy was putting one in his show car. It was mainly just a styling bar for the most part. But it looked really cool in the car!

I got a reply from the guy who made my bolt in roll bar. I was hoping he still made them. I would have bought a couple of them, had them painted black, and took them to the local swap meet.

Hi Robert,

I'm sorry, but we do not manufacture the bolt in roll bars any longer. I wish I could help.

Again, sorry.

Matt

A six-point rollbar isnt too intrusive. It isnt any where as near as bad as a 10-point cage. If you have pin-out sidebars its not a big deal at all. In my vert I have solid welded sidebars and it isnt hard to get in and out.
