Wrench light? What's that mean?

Ok I'm nervous to ask, but I've been having my wrench light come on and when it does my car bogs down and feels like it's going to die. When this happens I stop the car and re start it and it go's away. What could be wrong?

I would suspect the throttle body or some other component of drive-by-wire.

same thing happened to the 06 to us,at less than 35k.( V6 though) it would go into limp home mode and run like crap. same thing, turn it off, start it back up, ok for a short while. it was the TPS around 80.00. the new one was better made too with a metal clip inside that rides the butterfly shaft instead of just plastic. 2 screws to take it off, check out the inside. if the plastic is all beat up inside, pretty good chance thats it.

may or may not be the same on your car, but sure sounds like the same symptoms

I suspect your MAF sensor is dirty and needs to be cleaned.Get some MAF sensor CRC cleaner and spray it out good. Then start it up. I think you will be surprised.

In most cases it'll be the TPS. Occasionally the throttle motor of the pedal sensor. Check your TPS voltage (probe bottom yellow wire) with a voltmeter. You should see a reading between 1.19 and 1.31 volts with key on/engine off.

Ok thanks for the helpful replys. Ill give em all a shot and see what's wrong. I was kinda scared that it might be a bigger problem. The check engine light is on too, but that will have to wait haha.

Make sure you do not have any air leaks from the air box. The engine light being on concerns me. Clean the MAF and see what happens from there , check the TPS ;like Stwalgon mentioned.

The wrench means something throttle body related, id go with the theory of the TPS as well
