P0420 and O2 Spacer

I have a catted X with hi-flows and I am finally getting the P0420 code after 4 or 5 mths of having the x-pipe. Supposedly turing the 02 sensor off would work, but when I run Bama/Am 91 race tune, which turns the 02 sensor off, I still get the code. I emailed Pypes and they said I need an 02 spacer. They said Brenspeeds sells them, but I didn't see any on their page.

I've been getting p0430 code since I've had my kooks with catted x pipe. Never a p0420. What is an 02 spacer do to stop recurring dtc code?

I found the link to the 02 spacer: 02 Sensor Raiser Non Fouler Mustang 05+

I am not sure if it will prevent the codes but I guess it acts as if the 02 sensor is disabled or something.

What the spacer does is takes the 02 sensor out of the exhaust stream a little. I guess dtc codes p0430 and p0420 are caused by too much 02 being sensed by sensors, I guess. I read it on another site which explains it very well. The Hydrogen garage store home page. I'm hoping this may solve p0430 dtc I've been getting code since kooks and catted high flows added in 2006.

P0420 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected

Your X pipe shouldn't affect any sensors. All the sensors are before the X pipe. This has nothing to do with your O2 sensor either. The only exhaust mod that would affect things are headers, since they are pre-sensor/cats.

Youre right, I was looking at the wrong line. Either way, an x pipe would have no effect on the cats or sensors.

I know it's not the x-pipe but I am getting a little concernced if its' the cats themselves that are going bad. I am going to change the fuel filter tomorrow as I have read a dirty fuel filter could trip the cat codes.

Just turn off the rear O2s. They just measure how well the cats are performing. They have zero effect on performance.

I know the Eric Brooks and Bama's 91 performance tune leaves the 02 sensor on but Bama's 91 tune turns it off. Even when I run the 91 race tune, I will get the code which leads me to believe the problem is not the 02 sensor but something else.

You cannot get a P0420/P0430 with the rear sensors disabled.

Then that means that the race tune doesn't turn the 02 sensor off. I was told that it was turned off with that tune.

How do you turn off the rear sensors? I'm getting the same codes with my headers and mid pipe.
