Default can larger wheels cause steering wheel vibration?

so i recently switche out my stock 16 inch wheels on my 2005 mustang to some larger 18x9 wheels, now im noticing that at highway speeds the car seems to have a mind of its own, it pulls right, then pulls left, ect. ive also noticed a small vibration in the seering wheel that was not there before. is this caused by the larger wheels, or are they out of alihnment or something? theyve been balance but i dont know if you have to get your car re- aligned after putting on new wheels or not? any help would be greatly apreciated

I went from the stock 17x7 wheels to the wider FRPP 17x8 wheels which also have a +5mm offset. At the same time, my stock 215mm tires were replaced with wider 235mm tires. Not a big change and I didn’t note any driveability or handling problems. I had a standard alignment performed at my local Ford dealership for tire wear purposes and my own peace of mind. Probably would be a good idea to have your alignment checked.

Landon when switching to a tire with a bigger foot print it will feel exactly as you describe. Wider tires follow the flaws in the roads and have more road surface between the tires and will have a mind of their own as you explain. This can be corrected a bit by adding some Pos Caster to your alignment. The vibration is caused by a balance issue. No tires and rims should contribute to a shimmy wobble or vibration in the steering wheel. Good Luck

POS is slang for POSITIVE CASTER. Normally somewhere around 4* pos is what you want plus or minus a bit. Good luck!!
