Can any 1 tell me where to go to get instructions on how to replace the top on my 2006 mustang GT. I have looked and not found a good sight. I believe I can do it myself as it doesnt seem to hard just need instructions.

If you have never done one of these before, you might want to practice on a junkyard car. They are difficult to stretch to get it to fit correctly, the headliner has to be transferred and if you get one without the back glass, it also has to be transferred among other things. I watched the guy do mine and with his skill and specialty tools, there's no way I would even attempt it.

In my personal opinion I would say to leave something like that to the pros. If its not done right you will have leaks and drafts, not to mention you may ruin the new top itself. If a shop ruins it or messes up the install its all on them to make it right. Make no mistake...im not doubting your ability to do it but for the price and labor involved I would take it to a pro.

What I was looking for is a web site to get instructions. Any 1 know of such an animal. I saw 1 once and can't find it. Is there a place to go on this site to find it.

Mine was $1500 but I had new headliner installed and new back glass. I have sen them as cheap as $800 installed. This is Denver area.

I can buy the top with the glass for $600.00 It comes with the glass already installed as it is not a separate item. Just wanted to know if there was a thread here in a forum where I could view install instructions.

I can tell you from personal experience that it is a two-man weekend job to do it right and that was for a Miata.
Its top is much smaller and simpler arrangement than the 'Stang. The second top I put on the Miata, I let a pro do it and it only cost about $400 more than the top alone.

I will never do it again, I will let the pros do it. Just make some phone calls. Upholstery shops can generally do it too.
