Hello To Everyone..I'm A New Kid On The Block. I Purchased My 2005 Gt About Two Weeks Ago. Sad To Say It Only Has 278 Miles On It Right Now, Due To My Work Schedule. I Have Already Experienced Problems With The Cd Player Skipping. Also, After The Car Has Set Up Over Night And It Is Started, I Have Noticed A Puff Of Blue Smoke From The Exhaust. I Went To The Service Dept At The Dealership And They Advised That It Was Nothing To Worry About. It Would Clear Up As It Was Driven More And Broken In. Is This Possibly True Or Are They Feeding Me A Line Of Bull? Never Heard Of This With A New Car Before. Sounds Like Valve Seals Or Something To Me. What Do You Folks Think?
As for the CD player, there are numerous complaints about this one, and I've heard that the head unit needs to be replaced with a "B" version. Just what I've heard. As for the blue smoke, I'd give it a 1000 miles or so to break in just in case. If it's a major issue, it will show up soon. Could be a valve seal, or possibly a crankcase ventilation issue.
Thanks .....i'm Hoping That The Smoke Issue Will Clear Up. I Guess The Best Thing Is Put The Car On The Road A Drive It. As For The Cd Player, It Will Play Some Cd's Ok And Others Skip All Over The Place.
Tell your dealer about the Shaker problem and they will replace it. I took mine in a week ago and they said the Shaker replacement (Series B) was on "national back order" (along with a new gas tank for the shut-off problem) then they called yesterday and said the parts were in so tomorrow they get replaced.

mine had a few times it puffed blue smoke but it's ok now. i have 4000 miles on it. tell your dealer about the shaker problem. hold down the number 3 and 6 at the same time in am/fm mode and it will go through a self test and at the end is a serial number, it will help, they need it.
Had the same Shaker problems as everyone else when i picked up the car, however, after a few miles the CD problem went away. Of the 6 CD all are burned (Apple) with no skipping or ejecting problems. Added an IPOD adapter and life is good. Will update to the Pioneer AVIC-D1 (2-DIN) when it comes out early this summer.

My player wll play the Memorex Black All Use cd's that I recorded. That's about the only one's that I have tried so far that there is not a problem with. Thanks
Shaker 500 is working great so far. I have about 1200 miles on mine, and still notice the smoke when I start it in the morning. Was going to ask about that when I go to the dealer this week to get my proteciton package stuff and new rims on.
Please Let me know what you find out at your dealer about the smoke issue. Mine does it about every other day. Glad that your Shaker is doing ok. I played the cd player all day today while I was riding around. Used all types of cd's and didn't have any problems. I guess thats a good sign!
The blue smoke will clear up. I think once the engine is fully broken in (probably about 2,000 to 3,000 miles or depending how you drive), the smoking should disappear.
Thanks MGPONY; I haven't been able to drive my Mustang too much since I bought it because of my work schedule, but that's about to change. It's a fun car...
