My 2008 GT has been running really rough and recently threw a few codes P0018/P0022. I had a mechanic change the crankshaft position sensor and that didn't resolve the problem. Now Ford is saying the VCT solenoid is bad? Has anyone else had this problem?
Well that's fairly low mileage. I would just take your car to an auto zone to have them check the alternator The don't charge for this. Also check the VCT connector and reseat it. If that don't work it's prob the solenoid after all

I hope this was taken care of for you, Tucsonmustang. Your Service Manager is in the best position to look into this for you. He can check into any warranty, Recalls, or Customer Satisfaction Programs that may apply to your vehicle. Let me know the outcome.
This is not a typical alternator symptom (which would be P0340 and similar codes).
P0018 - Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation
P0022 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded
VCT is a reasonable next possible culprit.
Also check the wiring and connectors to the crank sensor (down behind the crank pulley on passenger side), and the vct sensors/solenoid control (at the front of the motor just under the valve cover and on top-front of the valve cover); focus on passenger side.
