I put together a budget 5.4 swap in my 97 before I had to let her go. I am doing the build again but there are a couple of things that I didn't know last time and don't seem to able to find the threads for.
first: PI swap on a 5.4, I did this last time and used stock cams. (such a bad idea should have waited) What are the biggest numbers i can get on a NA cam for a 5.4 with a PI swap and not Have PTV issues?!?!?!?
I know comp cams stage 2 "will fit" but I was really looking for PTV numbers here
I was think a 275/275 duration and 580/580 lift, but im pretty sure even with the taller deck in the 5.4 im going to have issues with PTV
Second: im running 24lb injectors thanks to a heads up from one of the guys here (r3d if I remember right its been years) did I go big enough i knew 19lb wasn't enough thanks to some advice but is 24 if i step up the cams.
Third: Where can I get a decent
Tranny without breaking the bank I got one in a trade last time but will need to purchase this time.
Fourth: I cant for the life of me remember how I got the alternator on if i need to do the PI swap with the HPS hardball-er intake. (i had way bigger issue on my first try)
