Question Any problems with Saleen supercharger on 06 GT

I'm getting $$ back from taxes! Want to put a Saleen supercharger on my 06 GT. Has anyone heard of blown engines, clutches, or other problems with it?

Make sure you stay under 450HP if your not going to rebuild the motor. The Saleen S/C is a good one and that's what I have. Get a custom tune if you can and make sure the person knows what he's doing. Ask if he can lock the trans in 4th (auto trans) and if he can't, find someone else. If you have to use a mail order tune, then JDM is one of the better ones. Here's a link that will give you a lot of information from guys that have installed S/C's http://www.modularfords.com/forums/2...ist-45232.html, you'll find two listed here from me.
One commend problem found is the S/C hitting the firewall and it sounds like the trans is grinding. Cost me $500 to get fix, but I just found out that the top section of the saleen s/c has an adjustment to it (read DanDaMan). I hope this helps you.

Ed I think I am hearing the grinding sound you mentioned in your post. I have a Saleen SC on my 05 GT. What or where is the adjustment you refer to, or, how, generally did you have to have it fixed?

Read this link http://www.modularfords.com/forums/2...-sc-46486.html, Go to page 4 or 5. I'm not sure which bolts they were talking about. I took my car to a SVT dealer (Mossy Ford in San Diego) to get my grinding noise fix.

1. A faint grinding noise could just be your screws turning while breaking in...

When a supercharger is new, the tight tolerances could make a faint grinding sound as they work into their grooves...

2. Another source could be a mis-aligned belt or binding pulley...

3. A vibration sound (which could be heard as a "grinding") may be coming from a slight touching of the upper intake of the supercharger itself hitting the firewall of the car...

Several people have had theories on how to fix this, but I just took a small "crow bar" and bent the firewall at the point of contact about a 1/4" or so...

This solved my problem and I am now a happy motorist, driving around town at about 140 MPH all the time...

Performance mods: Lets just say it's not stock.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

This IntelliTXT stuff sucks.

I have one on my 07 GT, the only problem so far was the hood insulation started to rub against the top of the s/c it wore off some of the red paint on the letters. It was under warranty the dealer removed the insulation pad and repainted the red letters. Anybody know of any mirror paint or something like it to spray under the hood, only kidding the orange paint will do under the hood.

07 GT. Exterior mods n/a. Engine mods, see profile.
One of the more powerful cars around.
One of the slower cars around.
Makes me feel like a kid every time.

I would raise hell and make the dealer put the hood insulation pad back on ( since it actually is there for a purpose ) and instead put 1/2" shorter motor mounts on the car.
