Connector broke - Clutch Rod Assembly

The connector clip for my clutch peddle to the rod snapped yesterday. I'm guessing I can't buy the individual clip. Where can I find a new rod assembly?

I attached a picture as a reference. Thanks everyone!

clutch master cylinder

Hi nfordhk. Something happened to me last year. Cheap plastic part broke in half. No more clutch. Had to by a new clutch master cylinder. Had to remove the clutch and brake pedal bracket assembly to replace the clutch master cylinder. I made some spare (steel ) parts I keep in the car so if it happend's again I can get going in 5 mins.

Does anyone know if that plastic piece unscrews from the end of the rod or is it pressed on. I would like to replace mine with a metal version hyme joint if possible to avoid the break down.

Hey cman. It looks like it's molded on or press fit. If that breaks were not going anywhere. I made one that will never break.

Thanks for the pics NR. That is what I'm thinking on doing as well before mine breaks, but was hoping that the end just unscrewed so I could just thread on a Hyme joint. I would hate to break off a perfectly good end to upgrade it, but that is what I might have to do.

An other alternative that I did see on YouTube showed that you can back up the molded end with a small hose clamp to keep it from splitting where it is molded to the rod. Not sure if this is a permanent answer, but couldn't hurt reliability wise.

The one I made is just to get me going again if the plastic one breaks again. But I was also thinking of making a permanent one that screws in with a lock nut just need to put some threads on that rod.

N.R. - does that brass colored rod unscrew out of the larger (silver colored) master cylinder rod.

Would make things real easy if it did.

You can not take the rod out. I took the piston out to see how the rod hooks up to the piston and it's made like a ball joint you have a ball at the end of the rod that is pack with hard rubber around the ball.
