There is NO oil like Mobil1!!

With thst said Motorcraft is the recomended brand.

For filters I use NOTHING but K&N Gold or FRPP.... which are wery similar (the same?) and the best avail!

The main reason I use the MOBIL1 filters is the valve in them which holds oil in the filter when the motor is shut off. The oil will not drain back out, which means it takes less time to get oil back into everything.

Tell me of the K&N gold and FRPP... Should I use one of these instead of the MOBIL 1? I am open to suggestions and always looking for something better... I want things to last.

Motorcraft 5W20 and a FL820S (which has an anti drain back valve) is all you will need. Mobil 1 in most grades is no longer a true PAO synthetic but now is a group III mineral oil. So if you think you are buying M1 and getting a true synth you are not. If you want a better oil for a little more than overpriced M1 try Redline. Motorcraft, Napa or Wix filters are all very good and all have anti drain back valves. BTW, next time you are under your car look at the oil filter then report back on how the oil drains out of it when you shut off the engine. I'd like to read that post.

'06 Tungsten Premium GT, manual, IUP, AA, SAB, Shaker 500, 18" polished Bullshitts

Eibach Pro Kit, Steeda shocks, C&L street intake, Xcal2, Brenspeed tunes, Meziere eh2o pump, Supreme GTAs, Saleen short throw shifter block, Amsoil 0W20 synthetic

Planned: driveshaft, Saleen S/C, and a few more suspension mods

That oil storage is interesting.. don't think K&N and FRPP use those? But they say the store some oil for start up lubrication... but in our cars there will also be some oil in the filter....??

I don't know much about filters, I know nothing about Mobil1 but knowing them as a company it's probably very good.

The main advantages with K&N+FRPP that I know is they do save some oil in there for the next start, they have a higher flow rate even with better filtering because of the very high tech materials used that is VERY strong and will not tear or fall appart,,,

There is a whole web-site on oil filters!! Good read!!

Ford built your engine and KNOW which weight is best for their tolerances...

My engine builder said 5W-20 is best, can also use 5W-30. He also said not to waste my money with Mobil1... lol

I'm no expert but it's up there... I would not say it's better than Mobil1...

MD is a Royal Purple dealer but they provide me with Mobil1 and that's also what they use in their race cars as far as I know.... go figure... recall something about high temps for a long time M1 is better...??
