Door Lock / unlock

OK I just picked up my car from my local dealership. I took it in since I got screwed out of my Global windows operation. But in my owners hand book, it states that I can turn the key while its in the drivers door Once to unlock, and If I turn it again with in 3 seconds, the Passinger door will unlock. My service tech told me that this was a Mis-print in the owners hand book. Will someone step up to the plate and give me an Honest answer??? The back of my owners hand book states thats its the Second Printing From Dec 2004. The Upc code on the back of the book is PM5R3J-19A321-EA.

All I want is an honest answer, since I really dont trust my local dealership.

Thanks Tim W

I have an 06 and when I was looking at the manual the othe day, it said that you can't lock the passenger door with the lock on the driver's side...have to use the remote or do it manually.

06 Stang GT, Yeah I got stuff! Check out my profile for the low down.

Doesn't work on the 05 or 06........but I always use the key fob anyway to avoid scratches that ultimately come from the key......

I know imports have that option, as for fords I haven't heard of any with that option.
It could be a miss print since ford and mazda work together.

My 02 Celica could do that. I didn't even know, someone had to point it out to me, but it doesn't work in my '05. My clicker is kinda crappy too. It doesn't unlock the doors very well unless I'm really close to the car. Has this happened to anyone else?

One of my remotes did that, but I had changed the cover of it from the plastic to an aluminum one by Steeda. They warn you that it diminishes it, but it went down hill quick. I think it is mainly the battery on that one since my other one can do it from pretty far away...I even can make the car beep if I shoot the remote through the floor into the garage below.

So you think I should switch batteries? It's not the end of the world, but it's just one of those annoying things you know?

Kinda off topic, but did you know that if you unlock the doors with the fob and then hold the unlock button for a few seconds, the windows go down automatically?
Reversely, if you lock with the key and hold the key to the lock position a few seconds, the windows go up automaticaly.

A guy with an 05 showed me this at the car show I participated in.

I WISH mine did that, I got a late 2005 and it was dissabled from ford. I bet that YOUR key will lock and unlock BOTh doors.

And to the
fob question, I have 4 cars all with fob's, so it makes a huge set of keys, and besides, I'd rather just have the key, and not both the key and the fob.
