Replacing side marker lights on a 2007 Mustang GT

After replacing my turn signals with smoked lenses, I am now ready to replace the side markers near the rear bumper of my car with white lenses. Has anyone else had experience doing this? I am wondering how to best reach them. Via the trunk or underneath the car?

From inside the trunk behind the liner.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find an opening underneath, so it seemed only reasonable that they can be reached from the trunk.

If you're talking about those rear ones on the side...the owner's manual says this:

"Replacing rear sidemarker lamp bulbs
1. Make sure the headlamp switch is
in the OFF position and locate the
sidemarker on the rear bumper
fascia.
2. Install a flathead screwdriver
between the rear of the sidemarker
lens and the bumper fascia.
3. Push the screwdriver to the front
of the vehicle and then slide it towards you to pop out the lens cover.
4. Carefully pull the bulb straight out of socket.
Install the new bulb in reverse order."

That's even easier. Didn't realize they could come off from the front.

It worked just like the manual said to do it, but I found that out after I started looking around. Super simple to do! And I like the look of having white markers rather than red.

You may want to check with state laws. In Ks., that would be illegal.

Thanks for the head's up re: the side markers, Dogstar. They're so small, it's the last thing I'm concerned that the police would notice (I'm keeping the old ones just in case). And the smoked turn signals will still blink amber, so they are definately legal. Seems like the police usually notice my speed more than anything else...but no tickets yet! I put some pics of the markers and the smoked lenses on my profile. They are not the best shots, but it is dark here and the '65 Stang is casting shadows on the '07 in the garage.

It is a very inexpensive mod and easy to do (as stated above follow the instruction in the owners book - just a flat head screwdriver).

I did mine (both front corner and rear side) and there are some pics in my profile.

I was thinking of getting some clear lenses but what do they look like at night? Are they a really bright white? Just curious...

If you go with white lenses then you need to use either amber or red bulbs.

I used stealth bulbs...they look silver but when turned on they are amber. I think that the stealth bulbs are not as bright as stock...
