Question 2007 Mustang V6. Should I convert to Dual Exhaust?

First of, thanks guys for helping me get an idea of what I should get. I have been told, and I have read, that upgrading the muffler is one of the easiest, cheapest, most bang for your buck upgrades out there. So I have decided that doing that would probably be my first upgrade.

While searching around the forums and talking to people, I somehow got the idea that doing the Dual exhaust conversion for a V6 doesn't do much more than upgrading the single exhaust. I have also heard that doing that might actually lower the performance upgrade compared to a simple muffler upgrade. Is this true?

Also what are other benefits, aside from the aesthetic ones, would having a dual exhaust system be over a single exhaust?

If I choose to keep the single exhaust, aside from the muffler, is there anything that needs to be changed with the exhaust system? Aside from the headers?

I have read on this website
05-07 Mustang Flowmaster V6 Exhaust | FordMuscle Magazine
that the Flowmaster muffler is really good, from what I read here people like their flowmasters. Is that article accurate?

And finally, if I do choose to go with the single exhaust route which one of these would you recommend? (I am looking for that deep rumbling Mustang sound)
V6 Mustang Stuff | V6 Mustang Performance Parts and Accessories (The GT take-offs for $79)
Amazon.com: Exhaust System - Flowmaster 17421 Exhaust System: Automotive (which is like the one they mentioned in the article)
V6 Mustang Stuff | V6 Mustang Performance Parts and Accessories (The JBA Evol for 170)
OR
Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Street-Pro Axle-Back with Polished 304 Tip (2005+ V6)

Again thanks for the help

the one you said is the most mentioned is the best in my opinion unless of course you go without a muffler altogether because it sounds sooo good lol

As for the gains from dual.... your not gonna see that much without having some sort of forced induction, infact im pretty sure you will lose some low end torque as well. I wouldnt recommend duals unless your gonna go all out on the car because having dual exhaust on a v6 makes it seem like your gonna be make some really bad ass sound but really its going to be laughable, even with that flowmaster muffler i still think my car sounds crappy compared to GTs but it does sound good compared to stock thats for sure.

well I put the cat back duals on my 07 v6 and it gave me more punch out of the hole and it does sound better but you will never make a v6 sound like the real deal.oh and the gas mileage stayed about the same

It gave you more punch than the stock?

Reason I am thinking whether it is worth spending over $500 for the duals. At least for me.

i just did the duals on my v6, straight pipes, with GT TakeOffs...awesome. i don't have any power loss, and i can definetly feel some gain especially at higher rpms it would seem, just seems to have more get up.

if i was ever going to upgrade the mufflers, i think i would get the bassani's, those sound awesome. i think there is a video on myspace...yup here it is... YouTube - Bassani Xhaust 05-08 Mustang V6 Performance Exhaust System

those are american thunder axle backs.... not a 17421, i think thats jus their part number so if anyone asks what you ordered or what you have on your car, you've got an american thunder muffler by flowmaster
