Question Weight difference on ragtop vs hard top?

I have a ragtop '07. I am trying to find the weight difference between my car and the hard top. Can anyone help? I cannot find it anywhere...

When it comes to the line, it is weight vs power, and I am a girl that likes to know where I stand!

A ragtop does weigh more, I'm not sure of the exact weight though. It is because of the extra support under the car. Someone will jump in with the exact numbers.

Nice Stang by the way.

The vert's over at my Dad's house but I looked it up a few months ago out of curiosity. If I remember right it's only about 150lbs heavier (lighter top but heavier reinforcing underneath).

Nice tribal graphics
Usually convertables do weigh a touch more for the extra reinforcement like they said

I did, just today. Nice catch. Someone pays attention. Nice. Thanks for the compliment on the car. Trying to find a personal picture that fits the size limits to upload on the profile too... If it is only 150 or so lbs, I'm good at the line. No worries. I see you have the front ground effects. Do you know if that effects aerodynamics at all? I know that is another drawback with the ragtop vs hardtop. I guess the temptation of having the top down on a sunny day is just too strong.

Okay, it's almost midnight here on the east coast and a lot of you guys just responded. My question, what are you doing home this late on a Saturday night? No wonder I can't find any of the cool guys, they are all at home talking online about their cars

There is nothing in the world that is like having the top dropped on a convertible on a warm Summer night. Surrounded by stars, illuminated by moonlight, and listening to some favorite music. It just doesn't get any better than that. Unless, of course, you have a really wonderful passenger....lol. I'm still working on that part although there have been a few that have tried out for the part....lol

according to Ford, the premiun 5 speed coupe weighs 3506 and using that info posted here the conv weighs 3614. so that is a little over 90 lbs more for the convertible. Hardly an issue whebn you driop the top.. There nothing like a convertible. There are 2 people in the world. Convertible owners and those who wish they were

Good luck with your crush. Although, I am not sure if Batman will grease the wheels exactly like you hope...

no flaming for the weight comment. Actually, that was pretty damn funny. Good news is that most guys I've seen around here that drive the hard tops have about 90 lbs on me, so it all balances out!
