Here's some pics of an authentic '08 GT500 sold at the 2008 Barrett-Jackson auction I thought had some cool body mods - especially the tailights. I wouldn't be surprized if those tailights become available from aftermarket venders. It sold for $76000.
Those are the rims I want. I just can't bring myself to pay what they cost.

I went to the Retrobuilt website. They have a white with blue stripe version for sale for $125K. They are some pretty bad fitment issues with the fron end. Especially around the hood. For $125K I would like perfect please. I do like the long Shelby taillight look. I wonder if the deck lid lights are functional or just stick-ons.

Hmm its pretty cool what they did, but like everyone has said.. Ford GT would be my thing.. Thats my kind of super car.. i wouldnt ever buy ferraris or lambos.. id go with the american muscle..
Looking at the interior details, the car is an '07 GT500 - not an '08.
Interior is totally stock except for the floormats and the power plug cover in the dash.
(Exact same power plug cover I have, by the way.)
They wanted the look of a '68 and couldn't replace the modern mirrors with Agent47s?
Looks odd with old-style chrome bumper on the front but not the rear.
Barrett-Jackson does not allow any reserve pricing. Retrobuilt probably was hoping for over $100K and was disappointed with $76K.
They went cheap on the taillights by using two three-pods per side, when one six-pod per side would have looked much cleaner but cost more to produce. Maybe the 3-pod already existed and they bought it and just adapted it to their application.

There's an article on this car in the September '08 issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords.
The engine is 600+ Hp supercharged 5.4. The sheet metal is for the '68, while the hood is custom made. According to the article, the tail lights are sequential, but had to be custom made. The chrome front bumper is '68 vintage, but lengthened by 4".

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
theres been a few threads about this car before...nice piece, but overpriced and not worth the money in my opinion (body fitment and quality issues)
personally i would keep my gt500 looking like a stock 07-08 stang (with the exception of C500 side scoops, of course)
with an asking price of 125k...id rather buy a 67-68 gt500 clone and mod the hell out of it. or call up unique performance and have an "eleanor" built. be cheaper, and well worth the money IMO
The engine is just stock GT500 with smaller pulley, JLT CAI and tune.
Maybe so, I'm just quoting the article.
