Default Pony spinners for stock GT wheels

Hi,
I really want spinners like the ones in the pic below but I'm told that spinners won't work with my particular wheel -see other pic.

I posted a thread like this about a month ago but I never got a final answer so I was hoping this thread would be seen by some new blood who might be able to point me in the right direction.

I've emailed www.spinnercenter.com but haven't gotten a response yet. Anyone else know if I can put spinners on these wheels? If so, where can I get 'em?

Thx much

PS: I told my wife when I bought the car that I liked the wheels just fine and that I wouldn't be spending several hundred (or more) to get new wheels. I DO like these wheels just fine -it's just that they could use a bit more of an 'aggressive' look and I think the spinners would fit the bill perfectly.

from what I understand, the spinners won't fit on those wheels b/c of the way the center of the wheel is shaped (it's concave).

There may be a way to rig it up to work, but I don't think anyone makes spinners that will fit directly.

sorry

Babe,
I thought the problem was the concave nature of the wheel, too. However......

Does the center "Ford" cap just pop out on those wheels? Because, if so then wouldn't a setup like this work?

Bolt-On Spinner Towers : Wheel Spinners and Accessories: Spinner Center, Specializing in Classic Tri-Bar Wheel Spinners

Can I remove the wheel, pop the "Ford" cap off, install that tower over the lugs, put the wheel back on and then pop the spinner on the tower? Isn't that how those work?
-Or is the problem that the tower isn't long enough and the spinner still won't fit b/c the wheel is concave?

hmm...I'm not sure...

yes, the cap should "just pop off", but I have a feeling that those towers might not fit because of the slope of the inside of the rim (you'd have to take the cap off and look for yourself, I have the bullitts). I would think that the center area isn't going to be flat, so those towers probably wouldn't work.

Honestly, unless someone here has tried it already, you may need to be the guinea pig.

It might work doing that. I know for sure that the spinners will not work the way they are now.

Default Spinners .....

I do not think the spinners will fit the wheels you have, due to the center configuration of those particular wheels, first check if your wheels are compatibles with the spinners.

Look in the Ford Accesories web page, or talk to your Ford dealer.
The spinners are original Ford accesories and they are ordered by your dealer for you, or maybe you can order them directly, not sure.

I ordered my 2007 GT with 18" polished aluminum wheels and came with the stock wheel centers but looked at the spinners and liked them very much so I ordered them through my Ford dealer and put them on. The wheels have to be removed from the car in order to remove the stock centers from the wheel, no big deal, they are the snap-on type with a spring to hold the spinner very firmly in place.

Here's a photo of my Pony. The spinners do not show too well in the picture but they look terrific in the car.

Good luck.

Potro,
I know for sure that the Ford OEM ones don't fit. I'm looking for an alternate solution.

OK, I'am sorry, I understood you want the Ford ones.
I can not help you with that based on my personal experience.

Good luck.
