Whistling sound - cold morning start ups

As in the title, car makes a whistle sound for about 5 - 10 secs on start up. Seems to stop at the first high idle kick down. This only occurs on cold mornings. In N. Texas thats usually around 24degrees.

i have the same noise! i thought i was the only one with it. its only cold starts. i figured it was my CAI because that was the only thing i have changed on my engine and it didnt do it with the stock box. ill be interested with what others have to say too.

its normal all cars act differently on cold starts... my car has a difficult time starting in the cold but when in the garage its fine... i would not worry about it ... also the belts may slip a little because rubber hardens in the cold weather so it may cause some of the engine applications to squeal...

Didn't think it was anything major, just curious what it was. May just be belt/pulleys.
Also...Don't yell at me for this.....the car still has factory air box. Some of you mentioned you noticed this after installing the CAI.

On cold mornings I notice a "whirring" sound from my manual transmission throwout bearing. I push in the clutch and it goes away. Nothing wrong with it, just gets alittle noisy at low temps.
