2006 Mustang California Edition Value desperately needed

I have loved Mustangs ever since my brother left me with his 1968 Fastback in high school. I bought a beautiful limited release 2006 - #351 out of only 400 California Edition - Mustang brand new off the lot in November of 2005. I love that car. On Friday, March 13th, my car was totaled. I am desperately trying to get a value on my car as insurance is only alloting me for a straight '06 V-6. I had tinted all the windows, cold air induction and flowmaster on her too. Any way, is there any one out there who could give me some advice on how to go about valuating my car. I have searched the internet high and low and cannot find another CE for sale. The value is supposed to be what I could go to a dealership today and buy her for. Help! JP

There was no official Ford release of such a package on 2006 V6 cars(the GT/CS appeared as a option for V8 cars in 2007). It is more than likely just a dealer or regional "special edition" consisting of a stripe package and would have little if any added value over a regular V6 car. Sorry to hear about your car.

Sure it's a CE and not a Stampede Edition? But all those I thought were GT's as well.

Sorry I don't have a value for you but I have been doing a little bit of research on your California Edition and I don't know if the 1968 California Special rings a bell or not but if this is what I think it is then your car should be a factory special Mustang available only in California and are most likely valuable. If you have the opportunity to buy it back and it is not in to terrible of shape I would buy it back and fix it up considering that it was a factory car that was available to dealers only such as the Stampede Edition in your area and may be worth some money.

I found this out from thechromepony.com so it is an actual car I don't know if your car looks like any if these two but if it does maybe someone might know the value of it.

You may not know about the 2006 'California Edition' Mustang. No, we don't mean the California Special Mustang. There was another car that preceeded the GT/CS version recently announced at the New York Auto Show. The 'CE' Mustang almost passed under the radar, but for a sharp-eyed reader who brought it to our attention. It was never mentioned by Ford, as it was likely a test - a test that went rather well, since the 400 cars sold rather quickly (and exclusively) in Northern California.
When we called Ford's Public Relations department about it, a spokesperson confirmed that the cars were built within the Ford system and that others could be expected. That was the beginning.

stampederegistry.com is a page just for owners of the stampede, CE, SCS and the SDS. They are all basically the same car. If you ask Trinity I'm sure she would be able to help you out.

If you didnt have your car insured for the extra amount they are not going to insure extra for it, did tell the insurance company that it was a specail edition when you got it, chances are you were just paying the standard v-6 mustang insurance with no extra clauses. I think your out of luck, and you dont win against the insurance company. Does your insurance company have your car documented as a special edition. Plus its a v6 and will never see the same demand or collectors value as a gt500 or other mustang.

And I fell for it, commenting on a useless thread , newkid bumped a month old thread. This guy hasnt posed in over month, I think he got paid for his stang by now.

What is the "California Edition"?

I know this is an old thread but if you google 'mustang "california edition" 2006' this thread is among the results, but it does not difinitivly answer the question of what is the "California Edition". I contacted Ford and after some comunication on the subject this is what they said (I copied and pasted their reply in it's entirety)
Hello Rick,

This is Mike again, a Supervisor from the Ford Customer Relationship Center. I would first like to apologize for a rather late response. Here is what I got regarding the Ford Mustang California Edition:

The California Edition V6 was a California dealer package added to a V6 Pony Package, Premium Package, interior upgrade package and side stripe delete. There were only going to be 400 made (though we do not know how many were actually built). Dealerships would add the California Edition faux gas cap badge, serial plate on dash, racing stripes and chrome exhaust tip. The exhaust tip and racing stripes are the Ford Accessory stripes that were available for installation on any Mustang.

Lastly, these vehicles were only sold in California.

I hope this clears the air on our previous miscommunication. Again, thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company.

Sincerely,
Mike

So Hopefully that clears up at least the question of what these are.
