Kemah, TX auto show ruined

Im 17 and I live near Galveston, TX. I attended the Kemah car show on saturdays in the Home Depot parking lot. It had been there for years but is now gone. Apparently some teenagers in rice burners had been coming a little after the car show ended and been drifting the parking lot and racing. They had been destroying things and trashing the parking lot. Thanks to them the car show has been ended. I have heard they moved just down the street under the Kemah bridge but am not sure. I loved going and now don't know of any other car shows in the area to go to. Stupid teenagers think they're cool and ruin it for everyone. It was a fun thing for us my dad took his 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 Xl my sister or mom took our 1967 Ford F-100 and I took my 2007 mustang GT. I also have friends who took their cars and went but now its over. Its really disappointing. Has this happened to any one else?? Anyone now of car shows around Kemah, League City, Dickinson, Texas City, Or Alvin??

The car show you speak of has been moved to the parking lot behind Hooters at Nasa RD1 and 45.

Hope that helps a little.

Moving any event closer to Hooters sounds like a good idea to me.

A car show in my area has been chased around different sites by {idiots} who seem to delight in being just that. And, yeah, I do not miss the Houston area at all.

It happened here, too - the local Burger King used to have the car show... and the kids would end up lighting them up afterwards and they decided to shut it down. I am not 100% sure but I think it was then taken over by an actual club and moved to a larger venue (The Whiskey - where we're having our event) - but more controlled - no one acts like idiots.

You're not the first and won't be the last...

i`d say yes to hooters parking lot, even though i cant go that far. but it sounds good....headers....hooters :hihi: thats a shame, but i can see it getting out of hand too. as a kid, all the hot rods used to take up all the resturants, fast food places, dairy queens and all the corners and gas station lots and parking lots at night. every parking lot on both sides of the road for miles( telegraph rd,,2x4) on the weekends. it was so huge there was no way to stop it. guys would bring cars in on trailers to race on the street at night. but those places open did make money off it. the cops dug it too. those were the days

05 V6 auto,
