(Did you know that MD has moved to Florence?...I keep meaning to stop in and see the new shop).

No, I haven't hit any shows lately...I was going to go to Fillmore's for the weekly rod show yesterday, but I had too much to do.
We have to get together for the big one down in Carollton again in September though...lots of nice stangs at that one. I've attached a link to their newsletter if anyone is interested...see page 5. For those, not in the know, the get together is held in Carrolton, KY which is midway between Cincinnati, OH and Louisville, KY. They have tons of stangs there...I would say at least a hundred, not counting the stangs guys drive to the show.

Will let you know what Castrucci says. Wouldn't trust Airport Ford to clean the windows, so I understand your position with them.

I have been to MD's new shop...nice and spacious..just what they needed. They had outgrown the other place and this one offers them more room to grow. It's the old Dodge dealership that Lehman had. According to Greg, Lehman owns this facility and they were leasing the one in Southgate, so it made sense to move them in there. He also moved in the Used car business he had at Southgate.

Will be at the DCMC September in the Park Show. Taking Fri and weekend off to take part in all events. You need to go to the Bluegrass Motorsports event in Sept. Track Guys is hosting a 2 day HPDE Road Course Instruction there. I'm hitting Mid Ohio In Aug, a 2 day NASA HPDE event and then hitting the Bluegrass in Sept. Still trying to find out this cars potential. May take it up a notch next year, we'll see.

Supposedly it adjusts the force of the airbag when it deploys so it won't hurt a small person (child or adult). The full force of the air bag as it is now (before the fix) could possibly snap the neck of a small person if the seat is all the way in the forward position when the bag deploys.
Maybe your 06 was built later and doesn't need the fix. Mine was built 1/12/06 and needs it, but I'm probably not going to get it since there will never be anyone that small in that seat in that position and I don't want a Ford person near my OBD port.

To the OP,
Suggest also posting a sticky note by the OBD II port telling the service dept. not to upgrade the stock tune. Sometimes a communication breakdown can occur between the service order writer and the mechanics if you simply tell the former not to upgrade.
Where or what exactly is the OBDII port? Is that the port that I connect my tuner to?

I also just got the notice again Yesterday. My Delear told me the recall was because if a (Small) Person is in the Front Passanger seat it wont activate the air bag correctly. When My Wife sits in the passanger seat the Air Bag Light will stay on untill she wiggles her tight little butt around in the seat and then it goes back off
I asked the Delear if it HAD to be done when I got my first recall notice and he said it's up to me as it's my car, and since hardly anyone rides in the Passanger Seat then I just decided to wait for now. Plus I also did'nt want them to Re-Flash My Computer and mess up My Tunes so I did'nt have it done yet.
I also ask the Delear how long I could wait untill I had to have the Recall Fixed, if there was a Time Limit on getting the repair, the Delear said the Recall Repair was good forever on the Stang , or untill I get it done, so with that said I still have'nt got it fixed.
Whoever has there's fixed tell us (me) if they did a Flash on the Commputer, I'd hate to put the Stock Air Box back on and reload the Factory Tune.

I just got another notice the other day too...still not having it done.
One thing that I didn't add to that post a long time ago is that it could injure or kill a small person or child if the seat was all the way up and the person wasn't wearing a seat belt (unrestrained).
The odds on that happening in my car are zero since I make everyone where their belts.
They will probably keep sending the notices out for a long time since if they don't, they could easily get sued for negligence if someone got severely injured or killed by it. This way, they can say they tried repeatedly to fix the issue.

So if future plans involve removing the airbags for "racing" reasons you can just ignore the notice??

Obama whines that we don't build stuff like the Hoover Dam anymore. With his EPA in charge nothing CAN get built.....ANYMORE!

If you put the Obama administration in charge of the Sahara desert they would find a way to run out of sand in a year....-ME!

I would since the software change only affects the passenger side air bag deployment so if you remove it, you remove the threat.

I'm not sure if removing the airbags throws a code or not though since the car goes through a check of all of that stuff when you start it up. If you plan to remove your airbags or change out your seats and need to know for sure what will happen then go to this website High Performance Solutions - Modular Depot - Your source for Modular Performance parts and service and ask them. These guys build and race both drag racing and road racing mustangs. They did a lot of work on my car and really know their stuff. If they don't know the answer to this question, no one will.
