Will a GT500 supercharger fit on a 4.6 GT?

1. Can you swap a GT 500 SC onto a GT?

2. What kind of HP does the stock GT 500 SC give a car?

[QUOTE]Here is the list that Crown Aviation put together:

DOB GT450 supercharger installation Parts List
Revision (1) 12/19/11
This list is an effort to ease purchase and lower overall cost! THAT’S THE GOAL!!!
Please note that there are MANY ways you can go about this! This is a gereral list of supplies needed to complete installation (or close). This list is intended for informational purposes only (I am not a vendor and don’t want to sell you anything or steer you in any specific direction).
This an independent list and is not sponsored by Jason (SQIDD), Department of Boost or any of its members.
Please verify before you buy! Hyperlinks are included to ease your search. Vendor contact information will be provided for printed versions of this list. Solutions, comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
The prices in red are what I have paid for things on forums, or have seen them sell for on regular basis! Be cautious when buying used equipment and do your research first!

*Rough estimate:
Supercharger/elbow/intake/TB/belt/tensioner/gasket/oil $650
Injectors/fuel pump/hose/fittings $350
Heatexchanger/pump $215
Hose/fittings/electrical stuff/plugs $200
TOTAL $1415
*Note*
The short list above is almost everything you will need for the project. It includes prices which could reasonably be found with little effort. The expanded list below will include prices that I have found things and LOWERS the “general” price listed above.

**This is kinda pricey for a minimal pump. Life expectancy of pump estimated around 5000 hrs (per forums/vendors). This is a 2.5 GPM pump. Other brands are available for reasonable price. Use caution if purchasing used with the history of the pump. I bought one new a couple years ago from ebay and paid $89+shipping. Pump did work fine. For this project I am using a 33GPM pump for $145. That will feed a +800 hp beast! Cooling and low IAT’s are important!

a GT500(as of now) has the 5.4, GT(as of now) has a 4.6. There may be kits for the swap. GOOGLE it and see what comes up

I haven't seen any kits yet. So far you would have to purchase the 5.4 set up and install into your car, which won't be cheap. You could always get a SC made specific for you car, like the Saleen SC. Push around 5 psi and be around 450rwhp.

I have a prototype intake that makes the swap possible. I hope to have it in production by spring.

The GT500 blower will eclipse 450hp without much trouble. And that is when the motor needs to get forged anyway.

By my calculations the GT500 blower can make up to about 525hp on a 3v before it is just spinning too fast and overheating the IAT.

SQIDD,
That would be sweet. The guy I work with has an 09 GT500. He is re doing the suspension and going to a 6.2 Mammoth. So free goodies. That could save some big money if a kit could do the job. His time frame is this summer so that could work out great.

Granted a 6.2 would be cool but not sure it would fit under the hood.

Squidd what do you estamate the price of the intake is going to be?

Forged bottom end, Ported heads, Saleen super charger, 2.8 blower pulley/15psi, Dual stage water to air intercooler, AFCO heat exchanger, battery relocated, Twin GT500 fuel pumps, T-56 trans, Aluminum flywheel, Aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 rear gears, Eaton TruTrac Diff, TA Performance rear end girdle, Racecraft suspension system, UCA, LCA, panhard bar, 15" slotted front rotors w/ 6 piston calipers, Carbon Fiber front splitter/rear diffuser, and bunch of other stuff
RWHP/RWTQ is adequate

This would be an awesome setup. GT500 blowers can be had for $500 if you shop around. If the intake is kept to a fair price (I'd think $500 for that too) all you would really need after that is injectors and a tune. We're talking less than a two grand supercharger setup easily if you kept it non intercooled. It would be an easy way to make the 05-10s run with the new 2011 GT. And the GT500 blower is a pretty capable blower if it's ported. Hurry up! I'll try it! :kooky:
