Default Stripe Kit

As I was taking delivery of my new "screamin yeller" GT yesterday, the salesman told me they also just got in the new stripe kits produced by Ford. They come in gold and black and run about 225.00 this doesn't include installation charges. Has anyone purchased one of these "new" stripe kits and how do they look?

An employee at the dealership where I ordered my car put the black stripe kit on his torch red Gt. It looks like a decal an not very attractive. That's just my opion but for my money I would have them painted on and then clear coated. The kits from ford seeem too narrow. plus being a decal it would be a b**** to wax around.

I'm not certain, but the Ford stripe kit is very narrow, I blieve. I had mine done at 10" wide (two stripes, front to back) and they look great. Photos will come next week after the wheels get installed.

Claymore, . . . The price that Ford quoted you of $225 sounds pretty reasonable. Bob White Decals (www.bobwhitedecals.com) offers the same stripes for $249.

The advantage with Bob White is that they offer them in 8, 10 & 12 inch widths, as opposed to Ford only having 8 inch width stripes. Also, Bob White has the option of including additional decals for the front & rear bumper, whereas Ford only offers decals for the hood, top and trunk lid. Furthermore, Ford only offers 3 colors (black, white & pearl) - Bob has about twenty colors. But I would imagine with a Screamin Yellow coupe you would most likely want the black stripes anyway.

I've purchased the lower rocker panel stripes for my Performance White GT that Ford offers only on the V6 (exterior upgrade) from Bob White. But I got them in RED to match my red interior

I've thought about putting the racing stripe decals on the car. But I've decided to have them painted on since they'll be sitting flat in the direct Texas sun. And I'm afraid that overtime they'll fade and the edges will curl.

My Ford dealer was having an independant company put them on. They haven't finished with mine but here is the start.

The pattern is what you described (option #3).
They are vinyl stripes, not painted. I went with vinyl because you can always take it back off.

The stripe is going over the top, the trunk lid, and the spoiler. I have a black out between the tail lights.

as for Low key suggestions for a black GT. I don't think any stripes that you put on the car are going to be low key... Not of the 2005 Mustang.

The lowest you could get would to be a stripe down the side. I think there might be a few pictures on the net showing stripe options. I'd start with the "stripe painter" to determine you color scheme.

This is the stripe kit I got from http://www.baltimorestreetmods.com.
With alittle patients, exacto knife, blowdryer and the directions provided you can do it yourself for only $47.00.
I have to be honest that it took me two tries to get it right but the second attempt came out superb. I get positive comments all the time. One guy came up to me and said "I thought I was looking at a perfectly restored '67 Shelby".

I installed them myself. Picked them up at wal-mart for about $20. I used a small handsaw and a dremel. All I need to do now is wire them up to the battery.
