hate to tell you guys, but there are a very select few american cars with full leather. Cadillac and Lincoln are two of them. Chevy and ford have only ever had leather trimmed seating surfaces. most are only on the front seats. everything else is leatherette vinyle. (imitation leather) i know for a fact all chevy and ford trucks are this way. something else you guys may or may not know: 90% of all vehicle interiors are made by Johnson Interiors. I know for a fact that Ford, ALL GM vehicles, Dodge, Honda, Toyota,VW, and Nissan all use Johnson Interiors. BMW is one that i believe makes thier own interiors, and of course the exotics (ferrari, Lamborghini, etc) make thier own. so why does one manufacturer have better interiors than the other when they came from the same place? simple, that manufacturer pays Johnsons more for better interior.
Well you can immediately tell the difference in interior quality going from a Mustang to sitting in a BMW or Mercedes, just feel the leather. Not the mention, you can tell by the smell which one is of higher quality. My 06 'leather' is of higher quality than my 03, but the rear seats are still quite obviously vinyl, sadly. However, I thought the seat bolstering and headrests were leather and now I've learned they are not .. damnit, that sucks. Imagine how nice our interiors would be with a FULL leather package, ie ALL of the seats, the dash, armrest and doors, that would be sweet.

i agree with you on that vantage. my plan is when my interior is starts to look worn (with the red that wont take long) and after i pay her off, i plan on having the stang recovered in REAL leather. seats, armrest, doorpanels, the works. i expect to pay in the neighborhood of 2K + for this. especially if i keep the red accents.
sheech... i'm happy that I even have a GT/CS. I wouldn't care if it was a toilet seat and I won't ever even be in the back seats..guess it's how you look at things

I don't know if you noticed but this last post was over 2 years ago..

Since I have fun with the inside of the stang's. The back seat is vinyl. ALL OF THE BACK, also all the front is also, except the area that your butt and back rest against, this is the only leather in the car.... I did a seat install last week for a guy and they could not believe this is the way the seats are. Head rest are vinyl also. One thing about the new age, they can make vinyl look like leather.
They bought Katskinz to replace the factory covers and the material that was used in the Kats was nice but cheap made. Maybe he bought a lower line of them. This was my 8th car to change over and I think this set was the worse I have ever seen.

Reason: spelling
my g/f does seats and has for a long time. she told me when i ordered the oem takeoffs what the scoop was and she was of course right.its only the seating area of the frts. we checked it out real good when we installed them. thats ok with me, they are real nice, and the vynle looks good too. like she said, if it was all leather, those seats would cost around 2-3,000, not 2-300. so even the people that paid the 700 for the option it still blows away the cheap fabric they used that you cant keep clean.

PS- I know a guy who works for Johnsons.
I think you are overlooking that Lear Corporation makes interior components and seats for many of the manufacturers, including GM, Ford and Chrysler.
I work there.
