I concur-they are the best sounding thing out there. They have a loud bark when you start them up, then just like Rob said, they mellow out during idle and cruising. But step on it and they are a nice loud volume but not ear-splitting. But people will hear you for sure. And also like Rob said, there is no drone, period. Even my Pontiac G8 with the special Solo J-tube mufflers I had drone, and the drone from my Flowmasters with my previous Mustang was horrendous and times. Not so with the FR500S, they were worth the $500 I paid.
And as for the tone themselves, no sound clip except for a professional one and listened to on a hi-fi sound system or great headphones will do them justice. They have that nice musclecar watery-burble sound amplified by the slight lopey-ness of the engine.
I went through the steps to sand it and heat-paint the cans black to not stand out so much under the car. They look nice and sound amazing.
