I just finished the install of my Screamin' Demon Coil and LiveWires last weekend. It took me a little while to find some free time to get some pics for the site, but here they are...
For anyone wishing to know what the overall result of the coil upgrade was, it honestly isn't a whole lot performance wise. Really the only thing I noticed right off was a little quicker response from the accelerator.
Perhaps the biggest improvement to my car thanks the coil, however, is an overall smoother run for the engine. I noticed both at start and idle that my car not only ran smoother, but even sounded smoother.
All in all, I would say it was well worth it for this upgrade. I haven't done much to test whether or not there was an increase in 0-60 speeds thanks to the increased throttle response, but I'll let you all know when I get the chance... After all, it is still around -5 degrees here, haha!

Thanks for posting for the pics. I am planning to do the same soon ( see my signature )
Questions:
1-Did you need any spacers for the wires ?
2-I have a plenum cover ( see photo in my album ) will the wires fit around the back of it ? When I installed the cover I had to move the 3 plug wires, on the back side, down a little.
Thanks in advance.

Thankfully the manufacturer left enough length on the wires that they could easily fit around the back of a plenum cover. That is my next move for my 4.0L so I was concerned about the same thing when I first approached the install.
One thing to note, however, is that they make the rubber boots for the plugs a little longer than the boots on the factory wires. I just trimmed off a little with a sheetrock knife and everything clicked and fit perfectly... I didn't need any other materials (spacers, grease, etc.). They include a small tube of grease for the install right in the bag that the LiveWires come in.
I definitely approve this mod - have you decided on a color for the LiveWires?

your not gonna notice any speed/time changes. maybe ever so slight. i think it will help the mods you already have, to help run more efficient. did you get it from performance distributors? thats my testimonial on their site. it was the 2nd mod i did to my car. it helped mine alot cause it had 50k on the old wires. ive tried a few different plugs and gaps, ive stayed with the bosch iridium fusion plugs

I am using the Bosch Iridium Fusions too... I originally thought about re-gapping the factory plugs, but after a bit of poking around the internet, I decided these were the best way to go! I do agree that everything runs a bit smoother now that I have installed the coil and wires. I too had almost 50k on the factory wires before the upgrade...

I'm getting the blue wires. Your pics showed thats the look I want.
I'm also getting new plugs and i'll go with what you guys have used. What gap for the plugs ?
I need to know how to set the gap, remove and install the new plugs, I've never done that before. This is an easy mod but I'm by no means a mechanic. Any suggestions appreciated.

there is no gap with the fusions. just remove the old plug, put just a little anti seeze on the new plug threads, be carefull starting them in as not to cross thread, and you should use a torque wrench and set them at 156 in lbs.= 13 ft lbs. use the die electric grease inside the boots on the wires. ( i didnt have to trim my boots, they fit fine) i went with the old school yellow

I checked the gaps on mine when I took them out of the box and they were already just under 0.065... Since that is the recommended gap for any plug using the Screamin' Demon Coil, I did the same as AMustangRocks and left them as is. There are seemingly millions of plugs out there that have the same specs, but the Bosch plugs have been getting some serious praise with this setup and I am a Kasey Kahne fan... had to go with the fusions, haha!

Also, when you do the install, be sure to note the firing position of each plug as you can see in the closeup pic of my installation... The 4.0L fires 1-2-3-4-6-5 clockwise...

thanks ncv6. i tried the plugs on a suggestion from a member here and they have worked out fine for me. some guys dont care for them, but i think its like a motor oil brand kinda thing.
only thing about he yellow wires is, wash your motor, remove your old coil and plugs, wash your hands real good and wipe around the motor some more. dirt spots dont look good on the new yellow wires i like em cause they kinda stick out under the hood, nice visual thing. the other thing about the wires is with the sleeve they have,( makes them 10mm) they are tough to get into the looms. i kinda folded the covers and put them in the factory looms, but you can buy some nice loom blocks online.
