Default 2005 Mustang 4.0 "P2106" with New Port and Polished Throttle Body

Hey all! So I bought the port and polished throttle body from Jerry on eBay. I guess he's pretty reputable in our mustang community. Well it has been installed the last couple weeks and from time to time I'll get the dreaded WRENCH light and have to pull over while at highway speeds. It happens under acceleration. The code that goes along with it is "P2106 - Throttle position actuator - forced limitation." My throttle position sensor voltage was off on the sensor that the TB came with. So I simply replaced it with my old one, and the voltage was good. But the problem still remains. Any Ideas on how I should fix this?? I know I need to fix this before I start spraying again. A forced cut-off would not be good in the middle of WOT while spraying haha. Any input is always appreciated ladies and gents!

Have you gotten a tune for it? I would recommend one if you haven't. The more airflow throws off the stock tune since you need more fuel with more air. When I got my TB I already had a tune with a CAI so I was able to skirt by until I got my tune for the TB. It was alot different.

Edit: Just noticed your mods. You probably still need to try a tune for the TB.

Thanks man that's what I was thinking. I'm getting on the dyno for the first time this week! Do you think It may have anything to do with the spring or whatnot? He said it was a direct replacement. So I didn't mess with it?

i had a issue with the bbk where the idle would hang high, then drop fast. i tried someones suggestion to give the tb motor spring a extra turn. it didnt help the idle issue, and one day out of the blue it jammed and left me stranded when i stopped at a gas station, so i would not suggest that.

When I got mine I bolted it right on. It came with the sensor and motor. I chose to first try to install it and see of the voltage was a problem or not since it was pretty much a take off from a running car. I got lucky and everything was fine. Still keeping my old one for parts. I'm gonna say its a tune issue first.

Having just done this mod myself last week I should probably chime in. It does take some time for the adaptive learning of the ecu to figure things out. Last week I had issues with hanging revs and changing idle, but things have improved greatly with just 500 km of driving. However, did you disconnect your batter during the instal? For whatever reason, disconnecting the battery before installing and then reconnecting it after is supposed to assist in avoiding the wrench light.

That is because it resets the computer so the adaptive learning kicks in instantly.

If u have diablosport u can work on your maf tuning yourself modify tunes yoursepf but I do suggest a tune shop and have them set a tune where it needs to be they do that at my tuner shop I go to anyways what's also cool u can always set it back to factory tuning also had the dyno shop upgrade my diablospodt of the computer I had tuned problems programming the only problem was that I had to get it updated off the net love the shop I go to .

Nope. It's hard to explain. Basically a tune gives the computer different parameters so it doesn't throw a CEL. The computer still controls it all but within those parameters. But whenever something changes drastically, though it may be within the parameters, it can throw the computer off. So a reset sometimes helps.

I just bought one from Jerry (618jerrys) as well off of ebay. I am hoping I can get by without re-tuning the car. My tuner is pretty cool so maybe he wont charge me again.

Im finally getting that throttle body now just waiting to fix my head with a new ported polished one or just get a new one from the factory not sure yet
