Supercharger?

Should I supercharge my 2009 4.0L V6? I really want an economical car that makes killer power too. I can potentially buy a 3.8L Supercharger that came off a Pontiac and the guy told me I would only have to modify the intake. Can I make a buy on this supercharger in good conscience? This car is my daily but I really want it to make good power as well. Should I buy this supercharger?

The other option is a Paxton supercharger kit that is for a fox body. He said I just have to modify the bracket? This one or the other one?

Bottom line. Which supercharger? Should I even supercharge at all? HELP PLEASE

I wouldn't buy anything that you have to modify for a daily driver just for the fact of the fab will take the car out of commission while you have to do it. Also if you want to go forced inductions go turbo expecialy if you want to keep your fuel mileage you will just have to learn how to keep your foot out of it.

Yea what 93 said. Look into x-charger if you want to supercharge.

had an x charged 06 until i got bad gas. i loved it, used to post on here back when i had it, the x charger only kicks in after a set ammount of throtle so fuel economy isnt really bad, i actually got about 30 to the gallon highway as long as i didnt let it whine lol

i was x charger number 86

Dont buy a super or turbo of any kind that isnt made for your car. Unless you get it for free basically, all the headache and modifications wont warrant the price. It most definitely will not be just a matter of "modifying the intake". Even if it was, that alone could get messy. And it will be time consuming, like mentioned above. It might be out for 3 days, maybe 12 if the fabbing goes wrong. Just keep an eye out on all the forums and craigslist for a deal on a whole assembled kit thats ready to install without any sketchy rigging. I got my whole procharger kit with everything needed from someone for 2k off craigslist. Just be patient, and stick with mustang parts.

Xcharger would be best for low end instant torque. Their powerband kicks in right away. From what I've found epxect about 320-350 hp the wheels with that. A centrifical supercharger like vortech or procharger make higher overall numbers but have a higher torque curve and kick in more gradually. From what I've seen from others with my setup, I'm expecting about 350-370 hp with my procharger kit with the 12lb pulley
