Hey all. My mother has an 08 with the v6. the a/c nor heat does what its supposed to do. it just blows outside air no matter what. i looked over it without a test light.
-Compressor does not come on when button is pushed
-Blend door is moving when the temp control is moved
-heater hoses are hot
-all related fuses (didnt test clutch relay) are still good
I thought maybe it was the switch, but it still controls the blend door. so im at a loss. could really use some mustang wisdom right now! lol
wekcome to the forum. i`m just shooting in the dark here. i would check all the fuses in the smart junction box (behind the pass side kick panel) as those control most of the interior functions and in the main box under the hood (you said you already did) first off. i think the compressor comes on as soon as that position knob on the right is turned in either direction. i`ll look at mine today.
the 3 knob control is only sold as a assembly and ive heard its kinda pricy if that is the problem.

So maybe the control cluster? Just wanna get her heater going as its getting cold for texas. Lol I'm going to try and get my test light tommorow. Just thought it was weird that the blend door functions with the middle switch but the comp doesn't kick on nor does the heat come through.

are you turning the knob on the right to direct where the heat goes(like to defrost)? thats what turns on the compressor, any position other than straight up off

All the knobs seem to be doing their job. Minus cooling and heating. Even on max a/c and the ac button pushed, no compressor. The knob on the right does its job changing the mode door, and the speed knob changes correctly in all positions.
that knob on the right should tuen it on and off too. havent seem many problems like this on here. you might want to get some help, auto electric shop to trouble shoot it. the control setup and the comp would be pricy stuff.
theres a ton a pinpoint ohm tests for the entire system. theres a list of things for no heat, and a different list of things for no air, but sounds like your comp is the issue. you can check the voltage to the relay switch.
