This definitely fits into the "if it ain't broke, fix it till it is" category, but was wondering if there is any recommended plugs and wires for the 4.0? I bought some Bosch 4309 Platinum 2, out of boredom, but haven't put them in yet. Has anyone ever toyed with the ignition wires and such? I didn't see any Ford Racing ones around my internet searches, I like the FRPP stuff...
Thanks, let me know your experiences.
Stock wires are usually good enough; it's what I'm using on my turbo v6. There's plenty of aftermarket 8mm wire sets, too. Stick with the stock coil pack, nothing aftermarket there.
You didnt mention how many miles on the car nor if the plugs ever were changed. Iv'e seen the driver-side plugs 'wear out' fast, way sooner than they should.
I've read from several people autolites are fine for our cars. I'm going to change mine out while it's down for other stuff.
