4.10's or 3.73's

I know this has been asked A LOT but....

Ok i bought a t-lock a couple of days ago and i would've bought the gears but i'm still unsure... I have a 2006 V6 and cant decide on either the 4.10's or 3.73's! I know if i drive highway more (which i will be) i should get 3.73's but i just wanted to know how much the 4.10's actually bring down your gas mileage...thanks in advance!

The difference between 3.73 and 4.10 is only about 200 RPM. Gas mileage isn't going to drop that much. Standard adage is 4.10 for auto and 3.73 for stick. If you are worried about MPG drop down one ratio. 3.73 for auto and 3.55 for stick.

You've definitely been pointed in the right direction. The difference between 3.73's and 4.10's when cruising really isn't bad. It's just a couple hundred RPM's so your Gas Mileage won't suffer much! Either way, when you first install gears your first few tanks aren't going to be that great. Because you're definitely going to have a heavy foot and will be burning fuel pretty quickly! I remember when I first installed 3.73's on my Manual 2011 GT, I couldn't stay off of the throttle.

The general idea is if you have an Auto go with 4.10's and if you have a Manual go with 3.73's. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future.

I have 4.10's in my automatic and love them!! I'm getting around 19 mpg normal around town driving and 24.5 just highway. I'm also using a 93 Hybrid tune. Don't fear the gear!! Once you get the gears installed you'll wonder why it didn't come that way from the factory.

I'm getting the same or less with the stock 3.31's in my 2006 V6 and I have a cold air intake, 87 octane performance tune, Pypes muffler and screamin demon coil...shouldn't I be getting more than you? lol

It might be the 87 octane. It's also the tune. My 93 Hybrid is my daily driver tune. I get the best all around street driving experience with it. When i go to my 93 Race tune I get like 22 highway and 17 in town.
