The idea seems great at first, but unfortunately, it is almost impossible to install the locking C-clips with the engine in the vehicle! Secondly, the bolts don't actually unscrew themselves so much as the gasket "crush" shrinks after a few hundred heat/cool cycles. This decreases the gap between the header flange and the head mating surface, making it seem like the bolts loosened. Header gaskets materials have improved in the past couple of years, and mfgrs have designed them to have more memory than the old aluminum-fiber type. I just made that up.....
but seriously, a good set of stainless bolts from
Totally Stainless tightened to specs along with the FRPP gasket should give you good service and stay gas-tight with only one 300-mile re-torque.
