ive been looking heavily into the stroker idea for some time now, the idea of a 5.0 in my car sounds good, i want more displacement, but dont want the expense/hassle of swapping in a bigger motor such as the boss 302 or a 5.4. there are kits from sean hyland motorsports that will take it as far as 5.2 if you willing to sleeve it. the best deal i have found is an mmr forged stroker shortblock assembly. for 3199.00 you can get an 04 cobra block forged and stroked to a 5.0 that is rated at 850 HP at the rearwheels. if you want a current prod aluminum block, add 799.00 to that. given that i dont want to tear down my current engine with 14,000 on it, another block is the option im looking for. then i figure ill find some stock heads on ebay and have them reworked. then swap everything over a weekend, less down time on the car, then later add a blower. best part is, ill have an extra engine for the stang.. this is my plan in 2 years when i pay my car off... for now, ill get my fix with nitrous... i probably just spring the extra $$$ for the aluminum block. less weight and it will just bolt right in....

MMR is becoming a popular option with many members desiring to go this route. Two members have created 600+ HP monsters with strokers built by MMR. They are definitely on my radar for the future.

Stroking the stock block will achieve the same. I'd be pushing 600+ rwhp too if I went FI.

Never to late , especially with that monster Whipple out on the market now. 7550.00 a bit of money though. That is awesom on a stock block. Good info to the original poster.
