FYI: dry ice "blasting" to clean your engine & chassis In doing some research on how to remove undercoating from a chassis, I came across a posting in an Alfa Romeo forum that explained how a member there had used dry ice blasting to clean 50+ year old undercoating and rust/corrosion from his vehicle and other portions of it, including the engine compartment. He did so instead of traditional "torch and scrape" or solvent-based cleaning, both of which take time and frequently don't succed in accomplising the job or do so by also causing damage to sensitive parts (unlike dry ice cleaning).
I did some further research and discovered that there are a number of dry ice cleaning companies in various states who either offer this service in-house or rent equipment that the DIY can use.
Here's a link to give you more background info on this process (which is a widely used industrial cleaning method that doesn't use solvents):

Here's another link so that you can find a company(ies) in your area to contact regarding the same:

For those of you in the Indianapolis/Cincinnati/Louisville areas, the following company does dry ice cleaning of automobiles on premises:

There are MANY other companies who may offer this service in your area. Check Google for the same.

That was just ego talking here, which is why I had to confess the truth.

i know, but i called your reoseville, Ca location and they stated that they dont have any on the west cost which sucks because i work for the nations largest dryice distributor and can get the ice at cost.

ask them to ship one in if it's feesable, you pay the freight another alternative to sandblasting is also soda blasting, using baking soda
