Default FYI: on-line calculators for gearing/RPM/HP/tire sizing/exhaust/drag racing MANY MORE

As most of you already know, there is a broad range of freely useable on-line calculators for almost any auto-related performance parameter you might be interested in calculating.

If you don't want to wade through ALL of these various calculators, let me suggest that you FIRST look at the two set forth immediately below, which are far and away most comprehensive of all the on-line calcuators that I discovered:

(1) The Mother of all calculators:

ET-HP (19 parameter calculators)
CID- engine (20 parameter calculators)
Gears-RPM (11 calculators)
Head-Exhaust (26 parameter calculators)

(2) roughly 60 different auto-related calculators

For those of you who want some form of "professional" parameter calculator/record keeping software at a VERY nominal price, you might want to check out the following:

PITPAL

Features:
  • Stopwatch for Lap timing - easily time up to 500 laps by hitting the space bar. This gives the crew more time to concentrate on watching the car and the competition. No more subtracting minutes and seconds to determine each lap's time.
  • Also works well timing from videotape in the comfort of your living room.
  • Average lap time is calculated for the fastest N laps.
  • Automatic calculation of your weight distribution from the wheel weights - helps you eliminate math errors and arrive at the right setup more quickly.
  • Tire staggers are automatically calculated from the tire circumferences.
  • Single key review shows the value of one setup item (for example stagger or tire pressure) for all races, along with the lap times.
  • Statistical analysis identifies which changes are most likely to affect your lap times, which allows you to concentrate your energy on the things that are most likely to make a difference.
  • Comes on 3.5" floppies that run on any IBM compatible computer.
  • No expensive electronics are required - you continue to use the setup and measurement equipment you already own.
  • Easy to read format helps make sure you have recorded all the data you need. Over 200 setup items may be recorded per track session, including:
Engine Bore
