Default Adjustable or Fixed UCA & Panhead Bar with Lowering Springs?

I'm looking at buying some new rear suspension parts from CHE.

My car is not lowered. So I could order the fixed UCA Part# CHE2K.

But I think I've read in the forum that if I lowered it with Eibach ProKit or Steeda Ultralite Springs I'd need to adjust my pinion angle, requiring that I order the adjustable UCA Part# CHE2L or CHE2M.

I think the forum has also mentioned needing an adjustable panhard bar, and CHE also recommends it for "centering of the rear axle when the ride height has been revised", requiring I order Part# CHE6L too.

I was talking with a fellow S197 GT owner a few days ago here in SoCal and he said his Ford dealer had installed the Eibach ProKit springs on his car and left his other suspension components stock. He said the dealer told him he didn't need any adjusting.

What do you recommend for UCA and panhead bar when changing from stock springs to lowering springs in the 1" - 1.5" lower range like the mentioned Eibach or Steedas provide? And if I lower it, do I need to buy both the panhead bar brace and adjustable panhead bar, or is the brace just the static version of the adjustable panhead bar?

You just need the adj panhard bar and adj UCA for the reasons cited above. You don't have to replace the panhard brace.

I followed the instructions of the others on here when I did mine and got the springs with adjustable UCA and adjustable panhard bar with standard LCA's and couldn't be happier with the results. Just don't forget to adjust the pinion angle properly as your last step, it is a must. Negative 2 degrees on your differential in comparison to the drive shaft.

Why not get an udjustable upper and Panhard rod if you are going to lower it or not? Getting the "fixed" length units assumes that the car is perfect as delivered.

Do you think the chassis and suspension are perfect as delivered? I certainly don't

Absolutely!!! I've seen some rear axles off by 3/4" from the factory. Quality isn't job 1 anymore.

Too late for the LCA's … there on. I'll get the adjustable Steeda UCA … good buy on those I just found. thx.
PS- I know others have installed the Steeda fixed UCA and are not lowered … so there pinion angle must be off.
Spending too much on the thing floating in the water… $720 for 4 new rod holder

I decided not to lower my car but did replace the factory Bullitts with the FR500 replicas in 18X10 and BFG KDWs in 255/45-18. The wider tires now reveals that the axle favors the driver's side by 1/2-inch. Apparently I just never noticed this with the original Pirellis. So I'm getting an adjustable panhard bar to re-center the axle for equal clearance on both sides. As usual, one mod leads to another!

Funny how it seems to work that way.

I hear you … did you replace the whole unit or just the adjustable arm? I'm see in the service manual it comes out as a unit. It shows the front nut and bolt that need to be replaced, but not upper nut/bolt that connect to the bracket.
