Anyone have AM deep dish bullitts with TPMS transferred from stock rims ?
Has anyone been able to transfer the stock TPMS from the stock rims to the American Muscle 18x9 deep dish bullitts using the supplied cradle and bands from American Muscle ??
If anyone was able to do this I need to know how you were able to install the cradle and bands on the sloped surface of this rim so that everything was tight and flush against the surface.
tpms? I dont know why your having issues with your tires and what not, last time i checked you just take off the bolts, switch the rims and tires, put on the bolts and drive.
I guess you have some weird sensor thing attatched?

Chris, all the 2007+ Mustangs have this tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It's a small sensor that reads the air pressure in the tire and it held onto the rim by a band that is like a hose clamp.
The guy at the tire shop said he can't install this because the deep dish bullitts are sloped, there is no flat surface from the front of the rim to the back so the band cannot sit flush against the surface. He tells me the band will spin and cause balancing problems since it would not be held flush tightly against the rims surface.
So right now it looks like I will have them mounted without transferring the sensor. That will mean I will have the warning light guage on the dash illuminated all the time. Not a big deal but annoying.
I am trying to find someone that has a 2007+ Mustang and has these rims and successfully transferred the TPMS sensors over to the new rims using the bands that you get from American Muscle. Nobody seems to have done this yet.
I would go to a different shop. We've never had a problem with them sliding when properly installed. All they have to do is position the sensor 180 degrees from the valve stem on at the bottom of the slope and then tighten the band as tight as possible. It wont move after that.

I have had a similar problem with my shelby razors. The aftermarket band would not hold the sensor. Ford warrantied all four and now we are waiting on Ford bands and baskets to replace the aftermarket junk. I do not know the brand of the aftermarket band as it was installed at Big O tires but I had no problem with the TPS system prior to the wheel swap. I'll let you know if the Ford band works better.
