Because if so, it comes with two 1/4" NPT x 3/8" hose barb fittings included... and of course you need to have a bigger hose than that.

We ended up buying some 1/4" NPT x 1/2" hose barb fittings in order to attach the 1/2" hose... (rather than trying to get some sort of hose adapter). We'll see how well that works. I don't know what other people who've used the same part have done.

As far as we can tell, there is no 1/4" NPT to 3/8" hose barb fitting, so with that filter the best hose size would be the 1/2" (unless you find some other adapter for the larger hose).
Yes, that's the one. Where did you get your 1/2" hose and fittings? All the auto parts stores around here only have heater hose in that size, which i understand will fail. No one had the fittings either.....

Look on www.summitracing.com and get yourself some Aeroquip Socketless hose.

We bought the fittings from McMaster Carr (McMaster-Carr). Part 5346K22, but you have to buy a package of 10. You may also be able to find them at a local hardware type store.

I don't remember/know about the hose right off the top of my head, sorry. When duly reminded by my husband, I'll let you know.

I should have all of the parts in hand by Friday, so I hope it will be done this weekend sometime.

I didn't see any followup to this from stl. Is this an alternative?

This seems like an important mod. I have a few questions about it.
1. When you are emptying the reservoir do you put the oil back in the engine?
2. What is the best brand to buy without spending a lot for a large tank?
